Will This March Performance Kit Fit My Application?

One of the most common questions we get at March Performance is simple: "Will this kit fit my engine?" It's the right question to ask — and the answer depends on a few things that are worth understanding before you order.

March Performance makes pulley systems, brackets, and all-inclusive serpentine kits for a wide range of engines. Every system is precision CNC machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and engineered to fit specific applications. That precision is a feature — but it also means you need to order the right kit for your exact setup.

Start With Your Engine

The first step is identifying your engine accurately. This means knowing:

  • Make and displacement — Small Block Chevy 350, Big Block Ford 460, Pontiac 400, etc.
  • Engine generation — LS1 vs LS3, early vs late small block, etc.
  • Water pump configuration — short vs long water pump is critical on many applications
  • Accessory configuration — are you running power steering? A/C? What alternator?

Browse by engine family at marchperformance.com: Chevy, Ford, Pontiac, Chrysler, and more.

Check the Application Notes

Every March Performance product listing includes detailed application notes. These spell out exactly which engines, configurations, and years the kit fits. Read them carefully — especially if your engine has been modified. A stroker motor, a different damper, or a non-stock water pump can all affect fitment.

If you're running a crate engine or a swap, check the notes for the engine family rather than the original vehicle. For example, if you swapped an LS into a classic Camaro, shop the Chevy LS section — not the small block section.

Dimensions Are Listed in Product Photos

March Performance provides detailed dimension callouts in the product photos for all of our systems. If you're working with tight clearances — a low hood line, a tight engine bay, a close firewall — use those dimensions to verify fitment before you order. This is especially important on all-inclusive systems that include a specific alternator or A/C compressor placement.

Serpentine vs V-Belt

March Performance makes both serpentine conversion systems and V-belt pulley systems. Serpentine systems use a single modern belt to drive all accessories — more reliable, no belt throwing, and a cleaner look. V-belt systems retain the traditional multi-belt setup and are often preferred for certain vintage applications or specific accessory combinations.

Not sure which is right for your build? Check out the Small Block Chevy serpentine systems or pulley and bracket kits to compare options.
