What information do I need before calling tech support?+
Please have your part number, engine type and displacement, and vehicle year, make, and model ready, along with where the item was purchased. Photos or measurements are extremely helpful for fitment or belt issues.
My belt is throwing off or making noise. What should I check?+
The most common causes are
pulley misalignment and
incorrect belt tension. Remove the belt and use a straight edge across the crank pulley to verify all pulleys are in the same plane. Even 1/8" of misalignment can throw a belt at high RPM. Also confirm you're using the correct belt length. See our

My power steering pump is whining after installation. What's wrong?+
Whining is almost always caused by
air trapped in the system. With the engine idling, slowly turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock 5–10 times while keeping the reservoir topped off with fresh power steering fluid. If it persists, inspect all fittings on the low-pressure suction side for air leaks. See our full guide:

What fluid should I use in my March Performance power steering pump?+
We recommend dedicated power steering fluid in all of our pump assemblies. Do not substitute ATF or universal hydraulic fluid unless your vehicle's owner's manual specifically calls for it.
Will this kit fit my application?+

Will This March Performance Kit Fit My Application? Several kits also offer
multiple power steering pump options. These options can aid in creating clearance with front-mounted steering boxes and control arms. The
GM Type 2 pump is commonly utilized in these situations as it typically provides the most clearance.
Do March Performance products come with a warranty?+
What's the difference between Sport Track, Style Track, and Ultra systems?+
Sport Track is our budget-friendly all-inclusive serpentine kit with a silver or black finish. Style Track adds polished billet aluminum and a spring-loaded tensioner. Ultra is our top-tier system with premium finishes, mid-mount accessory placement, and the widest configuration options. All three are complete bolt-on kits CNC machined in the USA from 6061-T6 aluminum.
Can I use my existing power steering pump with a March bracket kit?+
In many cases yes, depending on pump style and shaft size. Saginaw canister-style pumps often work with our brackets but may need a different pulley (3/4" press fit vs. 5/8" keyway). Call us at

What is an underdrive pulley?+
Underdrive pulleys work by reducing the rotational speed of engine-driven accessories relative to engine RPM. This is typically accomplished by
decreasing the diameter of the drive pulley (crank pulley) or
increasing the diameter of the driven pulley, such as the water pump, alternator, or power steering pulley. The result is that accessories spin slower, reducing parasitic drag on the engine and freeing up a small amount of horsepower. See our full guide:

How do I install and remove a power steering pulley?+
Press fit pulleys require a power steering pulley installer tool for installation. For removal, most March Performance pulleys feature a
3-bolt pattern rather than the traditional machined groove on the face. This design helps prevent cosmetic damage that commonly occurs during removal with a jaw-style puller. A
3-bolt style puller is required for removal of these pulleys.
Keyway pulleys are retained by a square key and nut, making them fixed in offset. They do not require an installation or removal tool, which makes them easier to install in applications with limited forward clearance.

What is the difference between a press fit and keyway power steering pump?+
Press fit. The pulley is pressed onto the shaft and allows for offset adjustment by pressing the pulley on until it is aligned with the drive pulley. Installation and removal tools are required.
Keyway. The pulley is retained by a square key and nut. The offset is fixed and cannot be adjusted. No installation or removal tool is required, making it a simpler option for applications that do not have a lot of forward clearance.
How do I clean and protect my March Performance finish?+
The powder coat finish on March Performance products is best cleaned with a glass cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could dull or damage the finish. Regular cleaning keeps the coating looking its best and helps prevent buildup from heat, oil, and road grime.
Do I need a high-amperage alternator for my build?+
You may want to consider a higher-output alternator if your build includes any of the following high-draw electrical components:
- High-powered audio systems
- Electric cooling fans
- Electric fuel pumps
- Aftermarket lighting (LED light bars, HID headlights)
- Air ride or hydraulic suspension systems
- EFI systems with high electrical demand
